In New Music We Trust - Chester French & WALE
Discovered two new acts last week, the first one being the two piece band 'Chester French'
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDUcMaiyzM0-4UcgSXJILvMXaFyRSMjhSgv7CGNzC7hq_UX_YbGA-gfXUesWcE9vVDgK9R0vU3LCevPq_Iy3X33U3oo88x3rbykR6z3Izvyd9r2ZoFDehz1hS8fS7evQN0n4Gd5ITr3g/s200/Chesterfrench.jpg)
The Band is made up of two Harvard grads D.A. Wallach and Maxwell Drummey. There was hot competition to sign the band from Kanye and Jermaine Dupri, but they finally signed with the Neptunes Star Trak label last year after Pharrell said "When I first heard Chester French, I felt like I had stumbled upon two geniuses, It's been a long time since I've heard a project teeming with this sort of musicality and originality, you're going to watch history unfold with these guys. I feel it in my gut."
Their debut album 'Love the Future' is set to be released sometime this year, to here some of their stuff head over to their myspace here
Secondly, introducing Washington born rapper WALE

WALE has been making a big name for himself as an underground artist even appearing on MTV. He is signed to Mark Ronson's Allido Records and his debut will be released this year. To listen to his music visit his myspace here or download his '100 miles and running' mixtape here

This weeks top tracks
1. Sam Sparro - American Boy
This was a live cover performed on Radio 1's Live Lounge this week, i have to say this has got to be one of my favourite live lounge tracks of all time and is definitley as good as the original, if not better. You can listen to Sam Sparro's live lounge here, it also features a live version of his track Black & Gold.
2. Adele - Cold Shoulder
This is the new single by Adele from her debut album '19'. The track is produced by Mark Ronson and in my opinion is the best on the album. If you like it i definitley recommend getting the album.
3. Sway - Sky Is Falling
This is a track from Sway's mixtape 'The dotted lines', although only a mixtape track it is probably one of my favourite songs from Sway and there are also some other great songs on there that could have made his next album. The album is due out some this summer and is titled 'The Signature LP'.
4. The Script - We Cry
I don't know to much about these guys, but i heard this song earlier today and was pretty damn impressed. What i can say is that they are a 3 piece band from Ireland and they seem to other something different to what is on the UK scene at the moment. Their debut album is to be released later this year.
5. Rev Run - Mind on the Road
The song is taken from Rev Run's solo album 'Distortion' and features a sample from the song 'I love Rock & Roll' in true RUN DMC fashion. Although not as impressive as some of the RUN DMC classics it is still better than some of the crap rappers out at the moment. You still got it RUN!

Whos House? Runs House!
I have really got into this show recently, Rev is hilarious and his kids are pretty funny to.
I'm not so impressed with his sons Rap group though, they are a 3 piece just like Run DMC (and JMJ), called Team Blackout

That Boy Akala
Got myself Akala's newest album the other day and gotta say there are some great tracks on the album. In my opinion Akala is one of the best lyricist in the UK right now.
This is the video for his latest single Comedy, Tradgedy, History. If you like it i definitley recommend buying the album

Citizen Cope
Songs called Let the drummer Kick, first heard it in the film Coach Carter but forgot about it really but was watching Entourage episode 'Cannes Kids' early today and it was featured on there. The song sends chills down my spine, great song. Also check out the bands myspace as the other songs on there are pretty good.

3 Albums I'm Looking Forward To
The third album released by the Virginia Beach three piece goes by the name of Seeing Sounds, after initially hearing the band would be no more a few years back hearing the news that they were coming back with a new album was great news. Although there second album fly or die was not as original as the first release it was still unlike anything else on the market. I'm Hoping the new album can have a similar but updated sound as the first.
Pharrell says of the album "The goal is to be energetic and to be emotional — if not both on each song, then at least one of the two."
The album is scheduled to drop in June 08 and the first single 'Everybody Nose' has been released for listeners to here, you can listen here

2. Saigon - The Greatest Story Never Told
I first heard of Saigon whilst watching the TV programme Entourage and initially thought he was just a made up rapper. But i then heard some songs from one of his mixtapes and was quickly impressed. His debut album 'The Greatest Story Never Told' is set for release sometime this year (nobody seems to know when!). Although we have been told it isn't gonna be released at all at times the release date should be sooner rather than later. The album has been produced mainly by New York producer Just Blaze so should have some good production on it.
The first song released for the public was Come on Baby, you can view the remix ft Jay-Z and Swizz Beats here

3. Common - The Believer
The Believer is the 8th studio album due to be released by Chicago rapper Common. I first heard Common on his album 'BE' and was hooked from that instant, his delivery is second to none and you can tell a Common track a mile of. The album is said to be produced by his former collaborator NO I.D. and also with long time friend and collaborator Kanye who has had production credits on his last two albums. The track listing has been released and the album is slated for a November 08 release. Common has also stated that six tracks from the album will be released on an EP called 'Invincible Summer' in July.
No tracks have been released from the album as of yet but you can listen to the song 'Forever Begins' here (from his last album Finding Forever). If you like that buy the album, its a classic!

Movie Trailers
Bit of topic. Saw two new movie trailers today for Harold and Kumar 2 and Street Kings, here they are;
The 2nd movie of the series features Harold & Kumar trying to escape Guantanamo Bay after being wrongly accused of being terrorists. The first film was a pure comedy classic!
Don't know too much about this film except it features the legend Common, The Game and Keanu Reeves. Trailer looks pretty damn good!

Got his new album today; Searching for the hows and whys. I have to say although pretty similar to his debut i was still pretty impressed. The tracks the stand out to me are;
I could build you a tower, The children are the future and Better Things ft Kate Nash
The first is about people turning there back and being afraid to do anything in the world,
it features samples from reports of the Virgina Tech Massacre. Truly moving song.
If you want to listen to some tracks go to his myspace; www.myspace.com/getcapewearcapefly
and if you like that buy the album of Amazon!

Shame I can't find it anyway in England!
Akon ft T Pain - I Can't Wait
