In New Music We Trust - Chester French & WALE

Discovered two new acts last week, the first one being the two piece band 'Chester French'

The Band is made up of two Harvard grads D.A. Wallach and Maxwell Drummey. There was hot competition to sign the band from Kanye and Jermaine Dupri, but they finally signed with the Neptunes Star Trak label last year after Pharrell said "When I first heard Chester French, I felt like I had stumbled upon two geniuses, It's been a long time since I've heard a project teeming with this sort of musicality and originality, you're going to watch history unfold with these guys. I feel it in my gut."
Their debut album 'Love the Future' is set to be released sometime this year, to here some of their stuff head over to their myspace here

Secondly, introducing Washington born rapper WALE

WALE has been making a big name for himself as an underground artist even appearing on MTV. He is signed to Mark Ronson's Allido Records and his debut will be released this year. To listen to his music visit his myspace here or download his '100 miles and running' mixtape here

This weeks top tracks

1. Sam Sparro - American Boy
This was a live cover performed on Radio 1's Live Lounge this week, i have to say this has got to be one of my favourite live lounge tracks of all time and is definitley as good as the original, if not better. You can listen to Sam Sparro's live lounge here, it also features a live version of his track Black & Gold.

2. Adele - Cold Shoulder
This is the new single by Adele from her debut album '19'. The track is produced by Mark Ronson and in my opinion is the best on the album. If you like it i definitley recommend getting the album.

3. Sway - Sky Is Falling
This is a track from Sway's mixtape 'The dotted lines', although only a mixtape track it is probably one of my favourite songs from Sway and there are also some other great songs on there that could have made his next album. The album is due out some this summer and is titled 'The Signature LP'.

4. The Script - We Cry
I don't know to much about these guys, but i heard this song earlier today and was pretty damn impressed. What i can say is that they are a 3 piece band from Ireland and they seem to other something different to what is on the UK scene at the moment. Their debut album is to be released later this year.

5. Rev Run - Mind on the Road
The song is taken from Rev Run's solo album 'Distortion' and features a sample from the song 'I love Rock & Roll' in true RUN DMC fashion. Although not as impressive as some of the RUN DMC classics it is still better than some of the crap rappers out at the moment. You still got it RUN!

Whos House? Runs House!

I have really got into this show recently, Rev is hilarious and his kids are pretty funny to.
I'm not so impressed with his sons Rap group though, they are a 3 piece just like Run DMC (and JMJ), called Team Blackout

Check their myspace here at you're perril.
I have also included a track from Rev Run's solo album in this weeks top five tracks.

Video and Records of the Week

6 New tracks, one new video! For you're viewing pleasure!

Lupe Performing Paris, Tokyo

Live from Panama during spring break.

That Boy Akala

Got myself Akala's newest album the other day and  gotta say there are some great tracks on the album. In my opinion Akala is one of the best lyricist in the UK right now.

This is the video for his latest single Comedy, Tradgedy, History. If you like it i definitley recommend buying the album

Citizen Cope

Songs called Let the drummer Kick, first heard it in the film Coach Carter but forgot about it really but was watching Entourage episode 'Cannes Kids' early today and it was featured on there. The song sends chills down my spine, great song. Also check out the bands myspace as the other songs on there are pretty good.
